WHO we are

Locally produced, globally used

Republic Transmissions (RepTrans) is the “sole” locally produced original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of industrial gearboxes for use on all types of valves and dampers in the process industry. RepTrans has been designing and manufacturing industrial gearboxes in South Africa for the local and international market for the past 42 years. Our gearboxes are extensively used in the water, power, mining, petrochemical and other industry sectors.

At RepTrans every gearbox is specifically designed and manufactured to exceed client expectations. This is achieved by employing highly qualified and trained personal using the latest design, materials and manufacturing technologies.

Valve gearboxes from a safety perspective could pose a safety risk to the operator and critical industrial equipment. Therefore at RepTrans every gearbox is inspected and signed off by a professional engineer registered with the Engineering counsel of South Africa (ECSA). This provides due diligence and confidence in our gearboxes for the user and in safe plant operation.

Republic Transmissions offers a standard 24 months warranty which is extendable to 60 months from date of supply/commissioning. The warranty fully covers service failures thus giving the end user peace of mind and the reliability that is expected from a RepTrans gearbox.

RepTrans gearboxes all come with a name plate that indicates the serial number for each gearbox. This allows traceability and for replacements parts to be easily and quickly obtained from the OEM. Keeping downtime to a minimum and aftersales simple.

As the local OEM, RepTrans is committed to the manufacturing and supply of gearboxes to the highest standard for both local and international markets.
